The CSSS is the SFU student society dedicated to representing Computing Science students through educational, career, and social events. I'm running for Director of Communications, a one-year executive role responsible for the society's branding, promotional media, and social media management. My goal is to use my design background to replace generic templates with a professional, high-detail visual identity that actually drives engagement.

"Hey everyone, my name is Oliver, and I am a first year Computer Science student. I am running for
Director of Communications because I want to fix how the CSSS presents itself. For the past six years, I
have worked as a freelance designer and media producer for YouTubers and influencers using the Adobe
Suite. My goal is to create a polished, distinctive brand for our events that people will genuinely
remember and want to come to.
Beyond the design side, I know how to effectively manage a community.
I've personally grown and managed Discord and Instagram communities to over 1000 members, handling
everything from event promotion to day-to-day engagement. I have the experience to manage our social
platforms strategically, ensuring our outreach is consistent and our events get the visibility they need
to succeed.
As Director, I'll ensure every piece of media we put out is high-quality and catches a
student's eye. I have the technical skills, the management background, and the time to lead our
communications for the full year. Thanks."
